Carmen Chan
Hi! I'm a Chinese-American photographer and director with years of experience working in New York, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong. I'm now based in Vail, Colorado but will soon be based out of a campervan traveling across North America with my husband, son, and dog.
I gravitate towards creating clean, airy, and intimate photos that feel relaxed and calm with an eye for detail.
I'm committed to building an equitable and inclusive future through sharing stories about underrepresented artists and communities. I have an insatiable curiosity about the creative process leading me to visit the studios of renowned fine artists including Mark Bradford, Ed Ruscha, and Nancy Rubins and self-publishing a book featuring nine up-and-coming female artists.
Between collaborating with clients and enjoying the outdoors, I also volunteer as a Program Manager at Diversify Photo and co-founded F*ck Gatekeeping, a knowledge base for emerging BIPOC photographers.
